The Institution for the Court of Camelot, colloquially referred to as Camelot High, is the mainstream boarding school for the Camelot School District.
It specializes in the education of knights-in-training and other minor legacies of Arthurian legend, in addition to non-legacies.
However, attendance is entirely optional for big-name successorsâand in fact, many a King Arthur or Sir Lancelot have chosen to stay behind and proudly receive a homegrown education.
History[]
Though sources are incomplete and often undecided, like the romances themselves, Camelot High is known to have been formerly established by at least 1485, making it one of the earliest known Legacy schools in Ever After.
Description[]
The campus is adjacent to Pendragon Castle and utilizes much of the same architecture and stained glass designs. Stone walls of brick make up the hallways and classrooms, and banners of scarlet red and medium blueâCamelot Highâs colors, also featuring the schoolâs mascot, a fearsome grizzly bearâdecorate the ceilings.
The building is mostly furnished with posh blue and red furniture and equipment, including the desks and lockers. There is also a chapel on-site, with rich stained-glass artworks displayed in it, depicting scenes from Arthurian legends, while festivities are often held in the Great Hall; the schoolâs own castle-teria.
The dormitories at Camelot High are six to a room, with students divided by the following role archetypes, and then by gender:
Commoners & Damsels | Grail Maidens | Knights | Lords & Ladies | Magical Creatures | Royalty |
There are also several different student lounges available for use, each dedicated to one of these role types.
Education[]
Camelot High is structured in a way much unlike Ever After High whereâalthough substantial pride is taken in the legends retoldâthey do not host their own Legacy Day, nor do they possess a binding Storybook of Legends to themselves.
Rather, any legacies in attendance will take a âfield tripâ to Ever After High during second year and partake in their Legacy Day, with pages devoted to Camelotian students already bound within the true Storybook of Legends.
The specific curriculum depends on the role the student has in the legends. For the knights and lords, curriculum is largely combat-based.
Additionally, the school operates in a far more religious manner than most, and students are expected to take courses focusing on the Christian faith, for the purposes of their story.
Education from Camelot High may lead into Camelot University, a renowned institution that serves largely the same purpose. High-achieving students in their later high school years are able to take some introductory courses at the university.
Extracurriculars[]
The Queenâs Knights, the schoolâs multi-talented athletics team, are an esteemed and admired group of young knights who primarily joust but dabble in bookball for the sole purpose of competing with teams from other kingdoms.
However, Camelot High claims to cater to both âknights and scholarsâ, so the schoolâs academic crewsâsuch as the Debate and Science & Sorcery teamsâare nothing short of formidable.
