Alluring Charming (she/her) is a 2015 introduced and 2020 revamped character. Alluring, also known as Lori, is the daughter of Noticeable Charming and Crisanto Garica, the current Princess and Servant from Brother Grimm's The White Snake. She is in her Classic Year at Ever After High.
As Noticeable and Crisanto's eldest daughter, Alluring is destined to take over her mother's minor role in the story, secondary to the Servant. Lori desperately wants to take the more glorious main character role, but she's fully aware that siding with the Rebels would cost her absolutely everything- her family, her riches, her titles, and most importantly, her power. The definition of both Charming and Alluring, Lori has become a prominent figure in the Roybel movement, though lives in constant fear of what she would do if her family found out.
History[]
Before Ever After[]
Alluring Charming was born on January 1st, 1997 to Princess Noticeable Charming and Crisanto Garcia in the Kingdom of Snakes. Notiecable and Crisanto, affectionally called "Notty" and "Cris" respectively, were recent graduates of Ever After High and had very recently completed their destiny by the time Lori was born. Lori was born into a large and powerful family, adored by hundreds from the minute she was born. If that doesn't force an ego, who knows what will.
Following Lori's birth, Notty's parents abdicated the throne of the Kingdom of Snakes, making the barely 22 Noticeable Queen and Crisanto Prince Consort. This was a controversial decision, as Notty was not the eldest child- she had an older sister Noteworthy who was snubbed for destiny and succession. But that didn't matter much to baby Lori, who was now crowned Heir Apperant and Crown Princess of the Kingdom of Snakes.
Being young and very busy parents, Alluring grew up very spoiled in an attempt to win her love. Crisanto and Notty were very in their heads about being "good parents". It's hard to be a "good parent" when you're in your early 20s and also running a country, and they solved this issue by showering Lori with presents and their undivided attention whenever they could. Being the heir to the throne, baby Alluring also received a lot of national attention and grew to represent national pride in the Kingdom of Snakes.
Cris and Notty grew more strict and parental with the more children they had, though that left Lori in an awkward spot, having such a different childhood than her siblings who lived in the same castle as her. Lori's six other siblings were twins Adored and Admired, Academic, Astonishing, Amazing, and Additional (affectionately known as "Addie", thanks to that horrible name for the youngest child).
Ever After High[]
Freedom Year[]
During her Freedom Year, Alluring formally met her future husband- Aurelio Cano Dominguez. The two had met before but were unaware of their fate. The two started dating within weeks, mainly out of formalities and because might as well. Lori had... Complicated feelings about Aurelio (and still does), jealous that he got her father's destiny, but unable to articulate those feelings. Instead, Lori started settling into the idea that she was nothing more than Aurelio's destined wife.
Not that she liked it much.
Lori also meets her fellow Charmings, Jazzy and Dainty, and the three become an infamous clique (the Mean Charmings). As advised by her mother, she made a lot of connections during her Freedom Year, befriending many other powerful princesses and their famous counterparts. She also meets one Todd Blanc-Charming, and his Charming friends, Praveer and Praval Desai. She was quite interested in Todd, and bonded over their shared love of snakes and all reptiles, though has a particular eye for the Desai twins.
Right before Winter break, Aurelio finally snapped and broke up with Lori. She broke down in dramatic tears during lunch, and part of the school collectively turned on Aurelio. She had... Complicated feelings about it all, but appreciated the support and sympathy in her own unique way. While out in the courtyard, pondering life one night, she ran into Praveer Desai- freshly single, Praveer Desai, that is. Freshly single from who? Lori never knew, but he was looking for something to take his mind off it all. And so was Alluring. A month or so after the Aurelio Deal (and how long after Praveer and his mystery maiden? Lori never knew that, either), the two started dating.
They broke off somewhat amicably by the end of the year.
Legacy Year[]
Being a year older than the current cast, Lori signed the book during her own Legacy Day, no questions asked.
Yearbook Year[]
Alluring was in her Yearbook Year when the first part of the series took place- as in, the whole Legacy Day fiasco. Coincidentally, Lori decided to attend the Legacy Day ceremony with her younger sisters, who were in their Freedom Year at the time, and got to watch the whole ordeal unfold right before her eyes. Lori was astonished by Raven's courage and despite having signed the book, seriously considered siding with the Rebels.
Until her mother called and crushed that dream.
As described in The Phone Call, Notty made it incredibly clear to her daughter that if she even thought about siding with the Rebels, her entire life would be over. Having great pride in her status as royalty, Alluring took this to heart (to some extent). Lori never publicly announced her alignment, and most of the school assumed she was a Royal just because. However, upon Poppy O'Hair's establishment of the Roybel alignment, Lori put everyone's pondering to rest and formally joined the Roybel side of the conflict.
Classic Year[]
Alluring is at her breaking point by her Classic Year. She's crumbling under the eye of her mother and the uncertainty of what will happen after school. Even if she does complete her destiny, she will be forced to marry a man she loves but knows doesn't love her. It is around this time she becomes much closer to Lysandra Helena Ambrosia.

Approchable / Cunning / Decieving
Alluring is, well charming. True to her name, she's charismatic and very approachable. Lori has a natural draw, or, well allure, to her that just makes people want to be friends with her. With a soft voice and a gentle accent, she often showers others with compliments, even complete strangers. Alluring has a knack for making others feel welcomed and cared for. Everyone loves Alluring Charming, and Alluring Charming loves everyone.
Everyone but those who know Alluring personally, that is.
There are more Charmings at Ever After than anyone can truly count, and Lori knows that. She's known that for a long time. Alluring is determined in everything she does- but she's especially dedicated to standing out amongst the crowd. But Alluring is more than just a Charming- she's the epitome of a snake. She's sly and caluclated, everything she does has been thought of a thousand times over. She slithers threw the halls of Ever After High just as a white snake slithers threw tall grass, unassuming in her existence.

Alluring, like many Charmings, is considered a renowned beauty. There's an air of competition around Charmings considering how many "renowned beauties" there are amongst them. Lori, like many of her cousins, was given the gift of beauty by her Fairy Godmother, and the topic of her appearance has been a constant one every since. She takes pride in her appearance, yes, but she hates being defined by it.
Lori is Latina and comes from mixed descent, but mainly Indigenous with some Spanish heritage on her mother's side. She has deep tan skin and thick, slightly wavey black hair that runs down to her waist. She has a long face and a long, sharp nose, set with dark brown eyes. Lori usually wears her hair up in a high ponytail, twisted through a metal snake, something iconic to the royal family of her Kingdom. Alluring is actually slightly below average height, something she's most insecure about. To compensate, she usually wears high heels to appear taller (and, to some degree, more menacing).
Alluring is fond of bold colors when it comes to her makeup- it's rare to see her without her iconic red lip. Rumor has it that a makeup company in the Kingdom of Snakes has a special Alluring Shade that is made specifically for the Princess to match her complex. Snakish Makeup has neither confirmed nor denied this.

- Magic Touch: Zoolingualism - Though the Servant gain the ability to speak to animals by eating the White Snake, Alluring was born with this power, as it is passed down threw the women of her family. Now, unlike the Servant, Alluring doesn't always use her ability to help animals. She does particularly like talking to her snakes, but she equally uses them to gather espionage

Every evening, a king receives a covered platter for dinner. The servant serving him is curious and sees that the dish is a white snake, and when he takes a bite, he discovers he can talk to animals. He is later accused of stealing the queen's ring and he has no way to prove his innocence. The servant, thanks to his new powers, overhears a goose complaining about a ring stuck in its throat. He removes the ring and presents it to the king, who apologizes by giving him gold and a horse, at the servant's insistence.
The servant encounters three animals in trouble: three fish out of the water, ants at risk of squashed, and starving baby ravens. They promise to return the favor to the servant. Later on his journey, the servant hears that a King has promised his daughter to whoever can finish his impossible tasks. The servant, smitten with the princess, decides he'll take a shot. The King throws a ring into the ocean, and if the Servant doesn't receive it he will drown, one way or the other. Luckily, those three fish from before bring it back within a mussel.
The Princess isn't too happy about marrying some mere servant. She pours grain into the field and says the servant must pick up every grain, another impossible task. The servant gives up and falls asleep, and wakes up to find that the ant king from earlier has picked up all the grains. The princess sets him off on a third journey: a golden apple from the Tree of Life. Once more, the ravens from before fly out and retrieve the apple, and the servant and Princess are finally married.
In the original story, the King who eats the White Snake and the King whose daughter the Servant wants to marry are distinctly different Kings. However, over the years, the roles have been combined for simplicity.
How does Alluring come into it?[]
Lori's mother comes from a long line of Princesses, while her father was a random boy chosen for the destiny of the servant. They were married quickly after completing their story (and in turn high school), and Lori was born soon after. Despite the Princess's apprehension towards the servant within the story, Lori's parents were quite in love with each other and generally a happy family unit, with seven kids in all.
Of course, Alluring's family isn't just any Royalty- they're Charming royalty. While the Princess in the original tale doesn't do that much, Alluring and her mother and maternal line have had immense power outside of their story because of their Royal Last Name. Even minor children have been blessed with grand marriages and positions of power, despite how minor their story is compared to the Other Grimms. That being said, Alluring is far more defined by her Charming heritage than her legacy of the White Snake.
You see, being a Charming is Ruthless. It's no surprise how many couples name their kids Ruthless Charming in hopes that their child will rise to the top of the Charming food chain. Alluring's the eldest of seven children- seven children!- who all have the same chance of getting the destiny as her. You would think that being the oldest would help, but her mother was second born, yet somehow got the Princess legacy and inherited the Kingdom. There's a precedence here, for the youngest to overtake the oldest. Lori watched her younger twin sisters be born and eventually realized they could take everything away from her. At least she's the heir to the throne, right? Wrong. With as many cousins as the usual Charming families, her older cousins, her older make cousins could make a more legitimate claim to the throne, than to the first daughter of a second daughter. Even the laws that run your rightful Kingdom can be used against her, Lori realized.
And beyond her family, across the sea, there are so many Charmings out there, and there are only so many destinies out there, so many damsels-in-distresses and knights in shining armors to be filled. Every generation, there's exponentially more Charmings and the same amount of Legacies to be taken. Alluring saw firsthand as families rose from the ashes after being granted a destiny, and watched the same families fly too close to the sun and destroy themselves from within. It doesn't help that while you may be the daughter of the Queen and the Crown Princess of your kingdom, that your father was a lowly peasant before he married your mother. Blessed by destiny, yes, but she felt the glares from other Charmings. They knew her blood was cold and not as royal as them. She felt their stares and smiled back.
Alluring was always a naturally caring person, as the oldest of seven, of course. She was naturally motherly and yearned to be nice, but it was something she had never felt back. The world around Alluring was not as caring as she was. She watched her own mother scold her siblings, she watched her slip bags of coins and jewels under the table to foreign dignitaries or even just health inspectors. She watched her father sit with a glazed-over expression, she saw him wither away as her mother grew stronger. She watched her aunt snicker at her sister, making her own under-the-table deals in front of her, a tiny girl who loves nothing but her mother. It was from her aunt Tori that little Alluring learned the art of bargaining.
So, Alluring learned to be ruthless from a young age. But, alas, Alluring is not named Ruthless, like her many cousins, close and distant. But she watched her mother become the most Noticeable person in the Kingdom, watched her uncle ruin his reputation by becoming Notrious, and watched her youngest aunt turn a blind eye and stay Neutral. So, she decided to step into her own name- and title at that. Alluring Charming, Crown Princess of the Kingdom of Snakes, became Alluring, a snake slithering into other's lives at her own will. But you couldn't look away from Lori, now could you? She is a Charming girl, after all.
Views on Destiny[]
Alluring's main quarrel with her destiny is the fact that she's not the main protagonist. She's the love interest, a generic Princess, eye candy for some servant to pursue. The Princess has a bit more characterizations than some McGuffin Princesses- she's staunchly against marrying the Servant and slyly tries to deter him. But ultimately, this story isn't about her. And for Alluring, who's used to having everything about her, being the eldest daughter, being the crown Princess... It's a little bit of a downgrade, honestly.
Lori usually will just quote the Princess when asked why she doesn't like her Rebel- she's too proud to marry a Servant. Truthfully, Lori doesn't have a problem with marrying the Servant (she quite likes her destined Servant, but that's a whole other conversation entirely). Despite their upbringings, she massively respects her father and grandfather, who were once Servants themselves. No, Alluring wants to be the Servant. She wants the glory of an adventure, she wants the power of main character. Is that in contrast to her love for being a Princess, love of her title and her status? Maybe. But if Ashlynn Ella can go from Princess to Servant, so can Lori.
Except, that's not what's destined to happen. So, internally Lori would consider herself a Rebel. She doesn't like her destiny. Plain and simple.
But you've read her intro paragraph, you know she's a Roybel. Is she lying to us? Well...
After the whole Legacy Day Incident, Alluring was very ready to declare herself a rebel. She watched it happen, and though she had already signed the book a year before... Raven's words really spoke to her in that moment. That feeling inside of her, that feeling of insecurity brought on by her minor destiny, felt seen. Her dreams were quickly crushed in just one phone call from her mother:"side with the Rebels, and you will lose everything."
Lori had to weigh the consequences of either choice in her mind. Was being the main character worth giving everything up? Was it worth the judgemental eye of her mother, or worse, losing her relationship with her mother altogether? Losing her entire family, her fortune, her title, her security? All because she wanted something bigger, something better than the pretty life she already had? Well, maybe. But also, maybe not.
For her own safety, Alluring keeps up the image of a Royal to her mother. Her social media profiles report it, and she makes sure never to be caught in a photo with a Rebel, lest it all get back to her mother. But at school, far away from her little Charming country, Lori is widely known as a Roybel.

Lori Charmion is the daughter of Norah Charmion and Crisanto Garcia, a fashion and jewelry designer, and her tech guru husband. The Charmions are known to be "famous for being famous"- Norah's career choice is really only considered a "side hustle" in her richy-rich family. Lori, naturally, grew up in the spotlight but has grown allusive on social media and tries to avoid the limelight as much as possible. That's hard, of course, when she starts to attend EA Academy, brimming with other children of the famous and the rich, and the somewhere in-betweens.
Alba and Linda AU[]
Alluring's parents complete their destiny- up until the point they're supposed to marry. Notty is left alone at the altar, unknowingly a few weeks pregnant with baby Alluring. Notty was cast in shame for not only having a child out of wedlock, but also "messing up" her destiny (of course, she wasn't the one who pulled a Runaway Groom, but I digress). The crown was inherited by Notty's older sister, and Lori was raised in the shadow of guilt and shame cast by her absent father.
Alluring, now known as Ally, grows bitter and resentful towards Crisanto. Though she is barred from the line of succession of the Kingdom and the role of Princess, Ally is blessed with the destiny of the King's Son in Diamonds and Toads, and can escape to the glittering world of Ever After High. There, she meets her roommate, Alba Garcia, destined to take on the role of the Servant from... The White Snake. Alba tells Ally that her parents ran away from destiny, but she and her sister are being forced to atone for their sins. Ally puts the pieces together, and though she is incredibly angry at Alba, she keeps their shared parentage a secret.

I used the name and family basis for Careful. Alluring and Careful really don't have that much in common, besides sharing a story (The White Snake, though Careful doesn't have much to do with it) and this page.
