Sekhmet looked down at the thwarted criminal she and Ra had just knocked out. "Hey Ra..." She called as her partner put the wanna be loot back where it belonged.

"Yeah?" Ra didn't look back, too focused on the task at hand. Didn't matter, she knew he was listening to her. They'd been partners for years after all.

"You ever think we're too hard on criminals? I mean, it's not like they're..." She wanted to punch herself. She almost forgot the one rule of working with Ra, never, ever mention his arch nemesis by name unless he was here. Luckily, Osiris was nowhere to be seen.

"Not really. It's not like we kill them or anything, we just knock them out." Ra was a bit uncertain. "if we aren't this hard on them, they might turn into another version of...him."

"Noted." Sekhmet took his hand as they left just before the cops arrived, as was their thing. "Hey, you coming over for dinner? You know Mom always wants to check up on you after we have a fight."

Ra laughed. "No, actually..."

"So you want a quiet night of leftovers huh?" She knew his home life as well as her own. And vice versa.

"No actually, Mom and Sethos are going to actually be home tonight! They have a big meal and a big announcement planned."

"Awesome." She gave him a hug as they went their separate ways.

"Fist coming from your left!" The White Snake heard her partner's voice in her head as clearly as if Perception had spoken. The superheroine morphed into a lion, pinning her attacker.

"Don't kill him remember, as much as you want to." The White Snake wanted to retort back that she didn't want to kill him even if he had made some very sexist comments about her and her suit and her partner, but she couldn't talk in animal form.

Didn't matter. Perception could also read people's minds, she knew what she wanted to say.

The fight ended quickly after that, both of them had been doing this for a pretty long time, no need to drag this out.

As the two heroines left the police to do their jobs and wound up the would be muggers, The White Snake heard something that made her want to turn full lion again.

Knowing this, Perception placed a warning hand on her friend's arm as the newcomer spoke. "You waste your prettiness doing this you know? Both of you do."

"Macho, did you become a superhero soley to torment us?" Perception didn't usually speak, preferring to communicate telepathically, one on one with her colleague, but The White Snake was this close to turning into something venemous and injecting him with it.

Macho ignored her. Perception had learned early on that the insufferable chauvinist super hero unfortunately had a bit of a crush on The White Snake. Perception, he just tolerated.

"Leave it to the big boys and run along home before you waste your prettiness even more." Macho's voice dripped with oil, but just as he said these words, a squirrel jumped out at him.

Perception didn't have to read minds to know that The White Snake had something to do with this, even as the pair went off to their respective homes, leaving Macho to deal with his own problems.

"Again?!" Blaze yelled as a familiar blue headed figure came into light.

"Yes, again, like it or not, there's fire, I'll show up." Whirlpool doused a nearing flame even as she said those words. "Part of me wonders if you cause these fires?"

It was a safe assumption actually, Blaze couldn't fault her for that. There had been twelve fires in as many nights and the only thing in common was that Blaze was always the first one there, moving the fire and undoing the damage. "I can't be the only one who can control fire."

"I've never meant anyone else with flaming hair."

Blaze learned from past experience that she could not burn Whirlpool anywhere, couldn't even singe her, so she mostly suffered in silence. "Could be arson."

"Could be. You know I don't really think you start the fires." Whirlpool was moving water from the lake to the burn site so Blaze could really do her undoing of damage.

"Sure seems like you do."

"Well it is mighty suspicious." Whirlpool was kind enough to stand back as Blaze ran her hands over the charred and wet remains of the building, restoring everything she touched to it's former glory.

"I'll catch that arsonist." Blaze muttered as her reluctant sort of ally finally left her alone to talk to the owners of the building and the firemen, and the policemen.

Medusa wondered, not for the first time, why she couldn't turn people to stone like her namesake. Why call herself something that implied she could do one thing, and then not do it?

She wished she could especially, in this scenario, as she and her snakes chased after a particular reptile phobic wanna be assassin of a visiting dignitary.

(An army of snakes and a lady who looked part snake chasing after anyone would scare them, but Medusa was grateful fear of reptiles was apparently so common, especially in criminals.)

With a hiss, she finally mustered enough speed and tackled the villain, barring her small fangs at him.

"Don't eat me please!"

Eat? Seriously?

Medusa frowned.

"I don't eat people. But why don't you walk your happy little butt to the police." When it seemed like he was undecided, Medusa hissed again, her eyes flashing.

He scrambled up and ran the direction of the police station, but Medusa figured it would be wise to follow him.

Whistling for her snakes to go back home, she slunk in the shadows all the way to the police station.

"See anything?" Night Flyer yelled down to Black Swan, as they, or rather he flew through the cities, carrying her.

They did this every night, unless one of them noticed the other seeming a little more tired than usual, but they probably didn't need to anymore. The news spoke of plenty of superheroes all doing their duty. Night Flyer and Black Swan weren't the only ones anymore.

"No, we're good." They had to shout to make themselves heard even if they were in such close proximity to each other.

"Good." Night Flyer set her down gently on a rooftop as he called his wings back.

"Steel and Blade have been quiet lately..." Black Swan said quietly.

"Don't worry, we've bested them plenty of times. No matter what their planning, we'll get them." Night Flyer was always so confident, it's why she loved him as much as she did.

"Still, we should be at our best. And that means headed off to sleep as soon as we get home." Black Swan said pointedly.

Night Flyer muttered a sarcastic "Yes Mom." But she knew it was just an act, they both planned to go to sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow, they might not even change out of their suits!

(Just kidding, they most definitely would because not every one of their family members knew who they were and what they did.)

Naomi Orcades adjusted her sunglasses as she made the final note, watching the OG superheroes take off from their patrol

She had done it. She had notes on every superhero. That had taken her the majority of the day and well into the night, but Arthur had offered to help and she had refused him, so she really had no one to blame but herself.

But she was grateful she could finally mark step one as completed. Step one of her plan. Her mother's plan.

She reflexively tugged at her turtleneck as she mentally went over the other steps.

This one was easy compared to what came next.

Rounding the heroes up and convincing them they needed to work together.

This was going to be hard.
