Appearance[]
Missing an eye, the one eye that he does have is round-ish and a light periwinkle colour. Aisley's got light-to-medium-ish tan skin, leaning towards reddish and is always flushed to some extent, either on purpose with blush or otherwise. Naturally his hair is a soft shade of dark blonde/light brown but generally he has it dyed some variant of purple, with eyebrows to match. Rather bad at maintaining the length of his hair and it often goes unchecked for extended periods of time which usually ends in him having a mullet half of the time.
Thin, not done growing, still has baby fat in his lil cheeks, the kind that you just want to squish. Very endearing soft face, the type that aunties would grab and say "oh, you're growing up to be so handsome!" Bone structure suggests that in a few years, Aisley may have a nice jawline and cheekbones, but that remains to be seen.
Despite still being soft due to the lingering signs of his youth, Aisley smiles in a rather sinister manner most of the time, whether this is on purpose or has to do with his inherent villainous tendencies. His teeth are sharp.

How Aisley Got Involved[]
The last witch in Little Brother and Little Sister had three children. Cecilia, who perished with her in the story, Yvonne, who was to be the witch in the next iteration of the tale, and Matthias, destiny-less and free to live as he pleased.
Bar the deaths of his mother and sister, Matthias's existence was largely a peaceful one. He had an unremarkable highschool and college experience, distancing himself from his remaining family when he got the chance. He quickly got married to the heir to the large corporation Hua Pharmaceuticals and more famously, Nina Thumbell's fertility witch. Matthias worked there for a while in medical research alongside his wife Mei Li but became a house husband after the birth of their daughter Aspen. It was all-in-all very ideal.
While this domesticity was going on, a problem was arising on the destiny front. Yvonne found herself unable to have any children, which was bad enough on its own but with the requirement of at least one child to carry out her destiny she was somewhat stuck. There was a lot of discussion of adoption, of using the services of a fertility witch, of even finding some other young witch to take over.
A number of magical solutions were being tried over a number of years, when blissfully unaware Matthias and Mei Li found themselves expecting another child. Eight and a bit years after Aspen's birth came a pregnancy announcement, shortly followed by a harrowing visit by the Fairytale Authorities, at which much yelling was done and several bottles were broken.
In the end, Matthias was determined unfit to be the witch in the tale, due to his lack of magical aptitude. The baton was passed to Mei Li, who was more than upset about it. Aisley was born into a flurry of paperwork and arguments between his parents and whichever soul was sent to deliver information to them.
Everyone knew was a matter of time before Matthias died but it still came as a shock- not so much the "when", but the "how". Aisley, age four, was in the house with him when it caught on fire, but managed to get out with only a few mild burns and some exploded glass in his eye. The eye was removed but he was alive and that was enough for his mother and sister.
After this, Aisley's destiny became a larger influence on his life. Naturally, he found it abhorrent. It was the source of many fights between himself and his mother, but other than that he did try and live a pleasant childhood. Mei Li did her best for him while juggling another child entering adulthood and her job, but at the end of the day despite being a good mother she wasn't the mother or the parental figure he needed.
Sure, she was doomed to death as well, but she had done a lot of living, and it wasn't a burden that had being weighing on her since early childhood. It was difficult for them to understand each other, especially with Aisley being a child and all, so their relationship grew progressively strained. He felt the incredible need to impress her imposed onto him alongside the massive burden of his oncoming death and all the things he had to do before then. His hatred for destiny and The Powers That Be grew, and when it was time he was dragged kicking and screaming to Ever After High, and has been causing trouble there since.

Family[]
Hua Mei-Li[]
Aisley has always been close to his mother, whether he wanted to be or not. She's been protective and watchful over him since his birth and has influenced him greatly as he's gotten older. Her insistence that he dedicate himself to his studies and being a kind person regardless of his destiny has always rubbed him the wrong way- what did it matter? He was taking unnecessary stress onto himself for absolutely no pay off. And yet.
His feelings towards her are mixed: love, resentment, guilt, regret.
Aspen Hazelwood[]
Over the years, Aisley has begun to distance himself from his sister. As a young child he was very attached to her but once he began getting older and the reality of his destiny neared, he realised what it meant for Aspen. She'd already lost her father to destiny, and she would lose the rest of her family too. Their parents only had two children- she would have to be the next witch in the story.
Aspen herself did hold a lot of bad feelings about Aisley and her father throughout her adolescence but made her peace with them. With destiny gone there's no more reason for her to hold anything against Aisley so they are slowly moving towards a reconcliliation.
Benvolio Corbin[]
Benvolio is a man who made the mistake of crossing a witch around seventy years ago. He hasn't aged since, but he has been stuck as a carrion crow (said witch thought it would be funny since his last name means crow, she something about nominative determinism) until he can repay his debts to the witch's family. The terms of his debt and how much interest he has accrued on it are unclear to both him and Mei Li since the documentation was lost long ago, but he hopes that he's almost done paying it since he has recently gained the ability to return to his human form for a few hours at a time. His current assignment is to look after Aisley and ensure he doesn't put himself in danger, which has been doing for a decade or so.
Aisley holds a lot of affection for Benvolio, and vice versa, but he really does love making Benny's life hard.
Matthias Hazelwood[]
Matthias and Aisley's relationship was brief. There was definitely love on both sides but the abundant guilt in the last few years of Matthias's life certainly put a strain on his ability to be close to Aisley. Torn between trying to let Aisley down as gently as possible by not building a connection with him and enjoying their time together to the fullest extent, Matthias ended up being something of an awkward father.
His death was incredibly upsetting for Aisley and it continues to haunt him. Aisley holds a lot of resentment and anger towards his father for not considering the possibility that Aisley would inherit the destiny, but at the same time feels as though he killed Matthias by...existing. It's definitely something he has to work his way through.

Aisley is scared of Fernando because Fernando randomly barks, which is both weird and horrifying when you are destined to get mauled by dogs.

Outfits[]
Gen-Z alt fashion-inspired, generally riffing off of e-kid trends with a slight lean towards punk- something something people accused of being witches are often outcasts from society, punk and alt fashion are deliberately othering and stand out. Aisley's main colours are an almost black dark purple and silver, with red being his accent colour. Other colours may include dark blues, varying other shades of purple or pink. Motifs of blood, death, night, hounds and eyes are often present in his clothing.
