Megan's Tagline

Megan Diamonds (she/her) is a 2015 introduced and 2017 revamped character. Megan, also known as Meg, is the daughter of Roseline Diamonds and Luckiest "Luke" Charming, the current younger sister and King's son from Charles Perrault's Diamonds and Toads. She is currently in her Yearbook Year at Ever After High.

Despite having her entire life set thanks to destiny (one day being married to a prince and have riches fall out of your mouth whenever you speak? Sounds like a plan to me) Megan ultimately sides with the Rebels. All she wants is to give her older brother, Todd, the happily Ever After high deserves, and if that means Rebelling against her story in hopes Diamonds and Toads become obsolete, than so be it.

History[]

Before Ever After[]

Megan Diamonds was born July 16th, 1998 to Luckiest "Luke" Charming and his wife, Roseline Diamonds. Roseline was the younger daughter from the infamous Diamonds family, a relatively prominent family in Ever After. Her marriage to Luke, a minor Charming, brought great honor to his Kingdom of Gemnet, and the kingdom celebrated finally being considered a Legacy Kingdom.

Megan grew up in the castle of Gemnet, alongside her cousin Todd Blanc-Charming, who was older than her by barely a year. Being the only two children in the castle, Megan and Todd grew up very close and were primarily each other's only companions. Summer days were spent in the courtyard, Megan tending to her mother's plants and Todd tending to his frogs, while on colder nights the two were known to run around and terrorize the castle staff. Despite being born a Princess, Megan grew up modestly and humbly. The rest of the world (minus her parents) assumed that she would be the next Kind Sister, who traditionally was a peasant girl, and thus she was raised to close to such.

When Megan was four, her aunt and the holder of the Vain Sister legacy, Francine Toad, disappeared and died under mysterious circumstances. She doesn't remember much of the incident, but from what she has been told, her aunt ran off one night during a fight with her sister, and hasn't been heard from since. Megan learned to never ask any questions of her, though she was told that her aunt was a horribly diabolical person. Something inside of Megan didn't believe that, but there was nothing she could do to argue against it. So, she kept quiet about it. Even when her birthday came up months later, her first birthday without her beloved Aunt, she still didn't understand quite what was wrong about her. It wasn't her place to ask.

On the other side of the family tree, there were also Todd's parents: Lydia and Valiant Blanc, Lydia being the older sister of her father. As long as Megan could remember, her aunt and uncle would go off on a little Knightly retreat every February, and come back in time for their sons birthday. The trip before Todd's ninth birthday was no different, Megan played with Todd throughout the weekend, but let him be when they time came to wait for his parents. Megan was taking a nap when the news came.

Valiant and Lydia Blanc were dead.

The entire family was devastated by this news, Megan included to some extent. She loved her aunt and uncle, that was true, but not nearly the same way her father loved his sister or her cousin loved his parents. She was only seven at the time, barely grasping the concept of death and grief (grieving was not an option when Aunt Francine "disappeared"). Even if she didn't understand, she understood something had changed. Deeply.

For starters, her cousin Todd was now her legal brother. Per his parents will, in the unfortunate event that they both passed away before he turned 18, his legal guardians would be his Aunt Roseline and Uncle Luckiest. At first, there seemed to be no major difference in the family dynamic once he was adopted, they had been living together since they were born after all. Yet, as the months went by, something was different. Todd got quiet and distant. He stopped showing up to family meals. Megan would sit at the empty kids table, alone, and listen to her parents whisper about him. Every day for months she would carry up his cold food to his room, knock twice on the door, and gently place it by the bottom of the door. Even when she came back and it was still there, she made sure he would take it.

Two years after the incident, Megan's parents decided to ship Todd off to a preparatory school in the Kingdom of Flowera, just like Lydia and Luckiest had before. Megan tried to put her foot down against this, begging and crying for her parents not to send her brother away, not just for her sake, but for his. They decided not to their 10 year old daughter, naturally, and sent him packing. Megan cried when the private carriage picked him up to take him to the airport, and overall made a huge fuss about it. She eventually calmed herself down, and the two kept correspondence threw daily letters. The following school year, Megan started the same school as Todd, but the two were distant. They were in different classes and different grades, and Megan found her own group of friends.

It was during the first birthday Todd had at this school that their family learned some horrific news: Todd was going to be the next Vain Sister in Diamonds and Toads. No one in the family, including Megan, really took it that well. Not fully understand the extent of destiny and its rules, Megan took the blame out on herself. In her mind, she was the reason her brother was going to die. The guilt only increased when the next year, Megan received her own letter from Ever After High, confirming she would be the next Kind Sister.

Ever After High[]

Freedom Year[]

Megan was uneasy starting her Freedom Year at Ever After High. The past few years, she was able to avoid the truth of what was to become of her and Todd, at least a little bit. But now she, along with her brother, were at EAH. Things were getting serious now, and there was no way to hide from it any longer. Destiny was approaching fast, and Megan was going to do everything in her power to avoid it.

Well, she might as well make some friends while she figures that out.

Megan's first friend at Ever After High was Princess Poem, who she met in their shared first period Princessology. The two immediately hit it off and made plans to meet up in Bookend, where Megan suddenly divulged into her secret anti-Destiny rhetoric. She blurted it out randomly, and kept rambling until Poem joined in. Poem and Megan sat next to each other during their mandatory Legacy Day viewing.

Megan sat with a pit in her stomach as she watched her brother walk up on stage accept his destiny for all the world to see. He wore his father's knightly Legacy Day outfit, which she helped prep for him with tears in her eyes. He didn't cry, but she could tell every second of that day destroyed him. Things were coming a lot faster than she would have liked them. But today wasn't about her pain and what she shared with Todd, no, it was about him today. In an attempt to comfort him after the ceremony, Megan sneaks in to the Legacy Day after party.

Legacy Year[]

Megan was dreading Legacy Year, to put it simply.

The days leading up to Legacy Day were a haze of walking to class and doing homework and going to sleep. From what Megan remembers, it all felt like a dream. Meg would have preferred if it all was a dream- she would wake up and she'd be 10 years old ago and no one had to worry about destiny so soon. But as much as she hoped that some magic would make that true, Legacy Day came up fast.

Megan was anxious, to say the least. She spent much of day anxious almost to the point of sickness, barely able to walk she was so stressed. Her roommate Emerald had to help her into her dress, for even that tiniest action of acceptance felt too much to her. Eventually, she settled herself, put her final butterfly clips in her hair, and went off to the Legacy Day stage. Megan was not supposed to go up until far into the ceremony, so she had time to prepare herself as she watched all the Grimm legacies come and go, before the Perraults could take the stage.

No Perrault Legacy ever did that day.

Megan was in the audience when Raven Queen rejected her legacy and started the Rebel Movement, and Megan was fascinated to say the least. The pit in her stomach vanished and she was filled with such a giddy joy. Maybe she was oblivious to whispers of Rebellion threw the years, yes, but never did Megan think there was anyone else like her! She instantly called Todd, who didn't seem quite as excited as she was. He already signed, remember? The Rebel Movement does nothing for him. Besides, Praveer already signed. What's the point?

As Megan got off her call with Todd, who begged her to get some sleep, she realized something.

There's no Diamonds and Toads without a Kind Sister.

And Megan was going to make sure of it.

Yearbook Year[]

As a third year student, Megan is invited to the Heritage Hall during Thronecoming celebrations. With the Rebellion still in full swing, this assumption of her fate is... Uneasy for Megan, to say the least. Her mural is of her mother speaking diamonds and roses near the fairy, with Francine in the corner suffering. The imagery was unsettling, as she imaged Todd and her dear Aunt going threw the same horror. Her gift is a vile of shimmery blue liquid, the same kind she's seen stashed in her mothers medicine cabinet. With a hunch of what it is, Megan tossed it in her drawer and forgot about it. Eventually, it came up in conversation with her mother, who explained it was the potion that briefly stopped her from spitting roses and diamonds whenever she talked. Great.

Megan promptly poured it down the drain.

When it came time to leave her successor a gift, Megan left the empty bottle, with a note tucked in side explaining why.

It is during her Yearbook Year that Megan starts investigating the truth behind her predecessors and the previous vain sisters, based upon her reading for The Book of the Kind and the Vain.

Character[]

Personality[]

Selfless / Confident / Dedicated

Megan is the perfect younger daughter from these types of tales. She's kind and optimistic, selfless and caring, helpful, and encouraging- what better person to be blessed with the ability to have precious gems and flowers fall out of her mouth?

And, well, Megan hates it.

Don't get me wrong, she has no intention of being vain or cruel or whatnot, but the countless times she has affectionately been called "the perfect kind sister" or anything of that variation is... Irritating, to say the least. She despises her destiny, and would do anything to give it up, and yet all she ever hears is Perfect, Perfect, Perfect. Megan want's absolutely nothing to do with Diamonds and Toads or the Kind Sister or Rose, but to most, that's all she is.

Though, it's not necessarily false in any sense. Above all else, Megan is selfless. Even as just a nursery rhyme, everyone noted how much of a big heart she has. She is kind and caring, raised by her mother to always lend a comforting hand to those who need. She's one to put everyone else's need in front of her own, from minor things such as making time to help others and sacrificing her personal free time, to risking her and her entire families' reputation, to make sure he beloved brother doesn't die young.

Of course, there's so much more to her than that.

Megan is incredibly confident- in her beliefs, in the way she dressed and presents herself, in everything she has and plan to do. She takes every step with pride, and keeps her head high at all times. Most would be surprised to learn that she was not always this confident in herself- during her younger years, she was shy and insecure and kept herself. Something happened during Legacy Year (after the incident) and Megan decided that's now how she wanted to live her life- and so, now here we are.

Along with that, she's very steadfast and dedicated. Megan knows what she wants, and will stop at nothing to achieve the goals she sets. The man problem with this is that she can be very one track minded. Once she sets herself onto a goal, she tends to fixate on it until the reaches it, no matter how much time has to be spent on it or other more "important" things could be done. Megan also sets very high goals for herself, most that she really, logistically, could not reach. Still, she's going to try and try and try and try her very hardest to get close to the end.

Megan, historically, has a problem with putting too much pressure on herself. Even if it's just the smallest thing like getting a perfect grade in her environmental magic class, to something much bigger such as stopping the entire legacy of Diamonds and Toads- herself. In regards to the... bigger things such as that, Megan feels like it is her undeniable duty to prevent things from happening, prevent people from getting hurt. It's caused a lot of stress for her, as she lays awake feeling like she has to stop terrible things such as the destiny passed from generation to generation. Something she, a 16 year old girl can't do anything about. But she believes she has to do something. And going hand in hand with the one track minded, determined thing, she won't stop putting the pressure on herself, even it destroys her in the process.

Megan is an incredibly talkative person, which most who've met her can attest her. She can go on and on and on about anything in the world... and often tends to forget about everyone around her. She is an absolutely terrible listener, rarely letting anyone else talk, or even caring what they say when they get the chance. She doesn't mean it, of course, a lot of it is just caused by pure ignorance. Meg can be so stuck on one track in her head that the entire world disappears around her, and so do the rest of the people. She's very easily distracted too, which doesn't help. Meg says she's trying to work on being a better listener, but if you ask anyone she knows....

Megan is also terrible with boundaries.

Appearance[]

Megan's most notable feature is her height. She bordering on 6 feet, though not quite there yet (which Todd won't let her forget). Despite that, she has a very small appearance and vibe- as in, forgets she often towers over her shorter classmates. She's not self conscious about her height or anything, but prefers to wear flats so she doesn't extend that height anymore. Meg is plus-sized and has a round face, with big, doe like brown eyes- partially because of her perscription and the big round glasses she wears. Megan is biracial (father is Black and mother is white) and has brown skin, brown eyes, and dark curly hair (3b, specifically). Meg's favorite thing to accessories with are hair clips- specifically butterfly clips.

Interests and Hobbies[]

Gardening[]

Gardening and green thumbs run threw the Diamond blood- their ancestor is named Rose, after all. Roseline was no exception, and instilled such love into her daughter. From a young age, Megan was out with her mother and sometimes Todd tending to the flowers. The castle of Gemnet was small compared to others, but what wasn't small was the huge garden, courtyard, and greenhouse that Luke built for his wife. Being at EAH was quite an adjustment for Megan, as the EAH garden is nothing compared to her one at home. Still, Meg is an active member of the EAH Gardening Club and keeps a small window garden in her room, just to add a little bit of home.

Singing[]

Singing is a very distinctly Princess hobby, though for Princesses like Megan, its less of a hobby and more of a privilege to be savored. Traditionally, when the blessing starts to take affect on the Kind Sisters, talking becomes an extreme hassle and singing becomes near impossible due to the jewels and roses falling from their tongues. Thus, Megan was always thought to value her voice because one day, she will barely have one. It was quite a horrifying thing to hear as a child, but Meg took it to heart. Muse-ic is one of her best classes, and she is most often found humming to an early 2000 pop song while doing chores.

Horseback Riding[]

Megan loved horses as a kid- she was very close to being a considered a horse girl (but that honor would truly go to Todd). She was obsessed with watching her Uncle Valiant practice his jousting and teach Todd to ride a horse. Megan begged and begged for years to learn, but her parents always said no. Uncle Val promised to teach her one day, without her parents knowing, but of course that day never came. In some sort of twisted apology, Megan's parents finally let her learn and she fell in love. Megan isn't big into the sporty or jousting aspect of horseback riding and mainly spends her time on the trails surrounding her families castle.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Magic Touch - Green Thumb: Formally called, anthokinesis- meaning flower manipulation. It's a very minor form, that is, Megan can't wield any cool flower lassos or anything. Simply, Megan's touch helps flowers grow. Not instantly, of course, but she has never let a plant she's cared for die- key word, cared for, as she has killed a few of her mother's roses when she was younger. After that incident, she was committed to never let a plant die, and the power manifested from there. It's a genetic thing, though.

Fairy Tale[]

Diamonds and Toads[]

Main Article: Diamonds and Toads

Diamonds and Toads is a tale of two sisters- Fanny, the vain sister, and her younger sister Rose, the kind sister. Their mother is a widow, who favors her elder daughter and despises her younger one, as Fanny looks more like the widow, while Rose resembles her dead father more. Rose is treated like a Cinderella character in her own home, and was severely mistreated by her sister and mother.

One day, the widow sends Rose to fetch some water from the well, and that is where she meets an old beggar woman. The woman asks for a sip of water from the well, and Rose, being the kind soul that she is, agrees and helps her. The beggar woman turns out to be a fairy in disguise, and blesses Rose by making it so whenever she speaks, precious gems and flowers fall from her mouth.

Upon arriving home, the widow is ecstatic about this, and decided to send Fanny out as well. At the well, Fanny encounters a Princess who requests a sip from the well. Fanny refuses and insults the Princess, who turns out to be the same fairy in disguise once more. As a curse, the fairy made it so that whenever Fanny speaks toads and vipers fall from her mouth.

Fanny arrives home, and her mother is disgusted with what she see. The widow takes this out on Rose, who is sent out into the woods. There, she encounters the King's Son, who takes her to be his wife and the two live happily ever after. Fanny, on the other hand, is eventually driven out of the house by her own mother, and dies in the woods, miserable and alone.

How does Megan come into it?[]

Megan is the only biological of the current Rose and the King's Son- Roseline Diamonds and Luckiest "Luke" Charming. Her mother comes from a long line of Roses, while her father comes from a small Charming kingdom, who up until him, only had generic, through away Charming destinies.

As Diamonds and Toads is the story of an older and younger sister, Megan's destiny was always up in the air. The Fanny of their generation, her aunt Francine, passed away when she was young, so the burden to have an heir for her destiny was placed on Roseline and Luke. Though they tried, Megan's parents never were able to have any more children, so that left the question up on the air- who would be the next Fanny?

Enter Todd.

Todd has no blood relationship to the Diamonds and Toads family, being Megan's paternal cousin rather than maternal. However, upon his parents death, he was adopted by hers. It wasn't until a few years later when everyone's questions were finally answer: Megan was to be the kind sister, blessed with gems and diamonds and roses falling from her mouth with ever kind word she spoke, while her brother Todd, who had gone through so much already, was destined to die miserable and alone in the woods.

Views on Destiny[]

Megan hates it.

"Why on earth would you hate such a destiny?" One might ask. "Be glad you didn't get the short end of the stick and end up being a vain sister!"

Well, that's exactly it.

Todd got the short end of the stick. Megan loves Todd more than anything in the world and it kills her knowing he has to live with such destiny. It should be her with the vain sister destiny, not him. She's the blood relative of the last vain sister, Francine, she should be the one to bear such burden. But, she's not. Megan would do anything in the world to give Todd her destiny- he's been through enough already, just please, for the love of Perrault, let him have the Happily Ever After.

There's a really important thing about Megan: She is the only one in her story who has not signed the book. Her Vain Sister has signed, her King's Son has signed, and her Fairy has signed. But their Rose? The arguably most important role in Diamonds and Toads? She has not signed, leaving The Diamonds and Toads story up in the air. Megan feels like the burden of "ending" the Diamonds and Toads Legacy is on her. If she rebels and refuses to sign, they can force her to go about the story, can they? And if she never goes about it, then her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren won't.

And no one in her family will have to go through the pain that Todd and her have- knowing you will die young, and knowing your best friend in the world will die young.

It's a complicated feeling, Megan expresses that frequently. It's hard to explain to a lot of people, who often exclaim "don't you want to live after High School?!". She does, but she also wishes Todd could do the same. So, ultimately, she sides with the Rebels.

Parallels[]

To the role:

  • Megan's tagline, "With all my heart", is what the Kind Sister says to the fairy asking for water.
  • One of Megan's primary colors is orange, chosen as the "opposite" of blue, as in diamonds. She rejects her destiny, and thus rejects the traditional colors associated with it.
    • She does not completely reject it though, that's something hard to do, which is why she does still keep the blue in her color scheme.
  • Megan is very talkative and likes to sing. Something something it will probably be hard to talk when diamonds and rose constantly fall from your mouth.

To her counterpart, Todd Blanc-Charming:

  • Megan's main hobbies are horseback riding and singing - Those used to be Todd's favorite hobbies as well, before his parents died.
  • The pink and white in Megan's color scheme is meant to contrast Todd's green and gray.
    • While Megan's color scheme is supposed to be the inverse of a "traditional" diamonds and toads color scheme, Todd leans in to it.
  • Megan and Todd are essentially foils to each other.

To her predecessor, Roseline Diamonds:

  • Both were blindly loyal to their mother, who wasn't always best for each other.
  • Roseline and Megan start out their life the same, but Roseline ultimately goes down a different path that scares Megan. Both grew up as the favorite child, always the perfect Kind Sister, yet with a huge heart and care towards their Vain Sister counterpart. Roseline succeeds in saving her sister from her grim fate like Megan strives to do, but ultimately succumbs to her mother and fear of disappointing her family. Megan has seen this guilt consume her mother, though she never knows the specifics until much later. Roseline is everything Megan is and was, and at the same time everything Megan fears. She will do anything to not end up like her mother.

Megan's a pretty average student. She's never excelled in school, she's never enjoyed it that much, but succeeds nonetheless. Her worst classes are, naturally, destiny related classes, which she started ignoring in a small "rebellion against the system" or what have you, but Megan's grown to not care to much about those classes. Additionally, she's not as much as a STEM person as Todd is, and prefers humanities over all. She's not self conscious about her grades, but she's very scared to look "stupid", and thus refused to ask for her.

Hextra-Curricular Activities[]

Gardening Club[]

Megan is the vice president of the EAH Gardening Club. They work closely with the grounds keepers and Megan takes great pride in taking care of the Ever After High gardens. She joined Freedom Year in attempt to meet some friends, but ended up finding comfort in the club as it reminded her of her mother and being home. It's a small club, but she appreciates the community.

Charming Club[]

At least, that's what Megan calls the weekly Charming gatherings she drags Todd to ever week. They aren't a formal club or anything, just some Charmings hanging in the common room and hanging about. It's mainly minor Charmings like herself, though occasionally Adored Charming shows up. Megan just likes the snacks.

Trivia[]

  • Megan's birthday is July 16th.
  • She shares a fairy godmother with Todd, who was the previous fairy in Diamonds and Toads. She acts like an aunt that comes around for Christmas.
  • Megan's signature butterfly clips were a gift from Todd for her 5th birthday (it was the early 2000s, of course). She's bought many new ones since then, but has made sure to keep the original set.

Alternative Universes[]

Alba and Linda AU[]

Megan's heard the story of Diamonds and Toads a thousands times in her life. Every bedtime, every time an empty silence fell onto the dinner table, every time she was used as an example of the destiny system during one of her classes. And every time the same thought she never dared to ask popped into her head- who was the vain sister in her mother's retelling? She's never seen a picture or heard a name, or barely an offhand remark throughout her entire life. She must be dead, must she not?

That is, until Megan meets her Freedom Year roommate.

Alive!Francine[]

Megan is the essentially the same character in a universe where Francine does not die, but she feels a varying sense of guilt and hope. She's seen even closer how much pain this destiny has caused people, hearing stories Francine tells her in hushed whispers and things that can't be repeated. The stress and turmoil the whole ordeal has caused Aunt Francine, even if she is alive, is something Megan could dare never put Todd threw. With the addition of Francine as a maternal figure towards Todd, Megan also feels immense guilt about not succeeding in "saving" Todd, taking away a son from his mother for a second time. Ultimately, its not her place to save anyone, but she feels she must.

Reality AU[]

Megan Diamant Smith the the only daughter of Lukas Smith, an ex-professional athlete, and his wife, Rose Diamant, heiress to a mining fortune. Her aunt and uncle were a actor and fellow pro-athlete, respectively, until their untimely death that placed their son, Todd Blanc-Smith, in Lukas and Rose's care. Megan and Todd had lived in the same apartment complex their whole life, but now they are siblings, true siblings. With Todd's adoption, Megan's stake as future heiress is put on hold, though rumors start to spread as the curious things that happen to the eldest Diamant siblings come out. In the midst of this drama, Megan and Todd are sent to EA Academy, like their parents before them.

The Maggieverse[]

Todd's parents don't die. Megan's parents have another daughter.

When Megan is eight, her mother gives birth to a healthy baby girl name Magnolia- Maggie, for short. With Maggie's birth, Megan is pushed out of her role as the Kind Sister and into the empty Vain Sister role. Once being promised a life of glamour, Megan turns bitter and selfish as suddenly her sister gets the entire spotlight, and Megan gets an untimely death in the forest. Great.

    • Speaking of which, Megan and Todd were featured on the front page of the Wiki during the month of November 2020.
  • Megan and Todd's sibling dynamic (Diamonds and Blanc) won Ship of the Month for May 2021! Their front page blurb was as follows:

Diamonds and Blanc shines a bright lens on the multidimensional layer of sibling dynamics: Megan and Todd care for the other deeply, but the relationship between the two becomes strained as this care is expressed differently and misunderstood. The nuanced duo is accompanied by brilliant lore. Grimms' past generation content shows the external push and pull on the siblings, building on the ever-present theme of how trauma can persist through generations.

  • A bit of a fun, meta fact, back when Megan was named "Jewel", she had a crush on my old character, Eric Charming, the next Beast. Eric was later revamped into Elite Charming, her destined prince for a while. Elite's character has since been combined with Fearless Charming and renamed to Praveer Desai.

Name[]

  • "Megan" means "pearl", one of the things that falls from the kind sister's mouth.
  • "Camellia" is a type of flower.
    • In universe, it is her mother's favorite flower.
  • "Diamonds" is pretty self-explanatory.
  • Here is an explanation for the names of Megan's family members.
  • Originally, Megan was named Jewel Diamonds.

Concept[]

Megan, Megan, Megan. Oh how you have changed.

Megan was originally named Jewel Diamonds and had... Very little personality. She was a quintessential "Mary Sue", with her Oh Curse's Moment! even being how clumsy she was. She was nice and kind and while objectively a Not Good Character, I loved her because she was from my favorite fairy tale. Looking back, I realized I did my "favorite fairy tale" horribly dirty.

Sometime after Jewel's creation, I took a hiatus from the wiki. Still, my thoughts always wandered back to my two Diamonds and Toads OCs. There was so much more I wanted to do with them (Todd- then Jaden- in particular), and one day I was looking threw "M" baby names and found Megan, meaning pearl. I wasn't even looking for a name for a revamped Diamonds and Toads character, the meaning just reminded me of the tale. So, on a whim, I renamed and revamped Jewel and Jade into Megan Diamonds and Todd Blanc-Charming. Sorta.

Todd ended up with the bulk of my love and attention, ironically, and Megan just... Fell flat. She was a Rebel to save her brother, yes, she was kind and selfless, yes, but there wasn't much difference between Jewel and Megan besides the name. So, while Todd grew and grew, Megan just sat around. She was necessary for Todd's story, but she didn't really have one of her own. I felt frustrated, trying to separate her from my other "happy go lucky Princesses", and thought about delegating her to a secondary character until I figured something out for her.

Until De-Spell-oment.

Even with Megan's somewhat lack of a personality, her bond with Todd shown threw. So, I decided to do the De-spell-oment challenge with both of them to compare and contrast between them. Todd's part were just for fun, he was a pretty well established and well loved character I wanted to give more content to, while Megan's de-spell was mostly to develop her. I mentioned this at the top of the blog, and truthfully, by the end of it, I felt like I really knew Megan.

Over the course of de-spell, Megan's frustration with being seen as the "perfect Kind Sister" shown threw. She was kind and selfless, sure, but there was so much more to her that she wanted the world to see She was determined and dedicated, almost to a fault. She was stressed with the burden of saving her family, but continued to fight threw because there "is no Diamonds and Toads without a kind sister". Megan was as much as victim as a system as her brother was. Overall, her love for Todd shined threw, and with a much more solid Megan, how I wrote their dynamic improved. It was complicated and messy and there were misunderstandings but the two were siblings threw and threw. I've mentioned before, but I don't think Megan and Todd really hit as deep without the other. The two need each other, not only as characters but also as people. Still, Todd was always able to stand on his own feet, and now Megan can too. Megan has really grown to a character I absolutely adore. Writing and discussing and drawing, she's an all time favorite. She shares a very special place in my heart, along with her brother.
