Theodora is a fan-made character and daughter of the princess from the fairy tale "The Bear" by Andrew Lang. Her hopes in life are to rewrite her story and be more than what her destiny gave to her.

Character[]

Personality[]

Teddy is a kind person with a strong set of beliefs. She'd rather quit her fairy tale than let a prince rule the kingdom without her say.

Page-Rippers[]

She can't stand the stereotype of princesses always being turned into wives and ruling with the help of their prince. Teddy believes that the princesses should be the ones ruling the kingdom either directly beside the prince or completely without him. Those who don't agree with her are usually left behind in her life, seen as lacking in the belief of princesses everywhere.

Happily Ever Awesome[]

After the "Book of Legends" was destroyed and returned the pages to their matching students, Teddy was absolutely thrilled and is excited to see how every story turns out. Now, choice is what shapes everyone's future instead of some old, worn-out book. As long as Teddy gets what she wants, she's happy to support everyone else.

Appearance[]

Teddy is fair-skinned with dark freckles across her cheeks and nose. Her eyes are a calm green, complimenting her dark red eyebrows and lashes. Her lips are overlined with shimmering dark red lipstick. She has yellow hair pulled into pigtails with bangs across her forehead. Behind her head is a layer of dark red hair that she was born with, usually styled into braids that wrap around the pigtails to hold them up. Her outfits usually come in variations of gold, yellow, black, and a dark red of sorts. Pink flowers accent her accessories.

Fairytale – The Bear[]

How the Story Goes[]

A princess is kept in her tower for most of her life with her father refusing to let her out.

Upset, the princess approaches her nurse and complains about wanting the leave. The nurse is secretly a witch and says she can help the princess escape if she brings her a wheelbarrow and a bear's skin.

The princess fetches the items from her father by saying "If you won't let me out, at least let me have this."

The witch enchants the bearskin to transform the princess into a bear when she puts it on and enchants the wheelbarrow to speed of to wherever the princess wishes once she enters.

The princess put on the bearskin and hopped into the wheelbarrow and sped off away from the palace. Into the forest, she went but stopped when she heard someone coming. She hid behind bushes and was quickly discovered by a few dogs. They belonged to a prince, who was hunting in the forest. Before he could take down the bear-disguised princess she called out, "Call off your dogs!"

Astonished, the prince brought the bear home with him to show his mother. The princess kept on the covering and began to do simple chores around the house.

The prince heard the news of a party being thrown by a neighbouring prince, and he decided to go. The princess wanted to go as well but was still a bear. The prince laughed, kicked her, and told her to stay home. Angry, the princess used the magic wand the witch had secretly given her and transformed into a dress of moonlight and her barrow into a carriage. To the party she went and saw the prince with whom she was living with. The two danced all night, but then the princess left. The prince came home that night and saw the bear and his mother and complained about not being able to catch the name of the princess he danced with.

This continued for two nights. The next with a dress of sunlight, and the next with a dress of starlight. The night of the starlight dress, however, resulted in the prince slipping a ring onto the princess's finger before she could leave without a word. The princess got home, changed back into the bearskin, and once more heard the prince complain.

His mother made soup and had the bear give it to him. She princess sneakily placed the ring she had been given into the soup and watched as the prince discovered it. Something came over himself and he demanded that the bear take off her cloak. She did so and revealed she was the princess he had fallen for.

The two were married soon after and lived happily ever after.

How does Teddy come into it?[]

Teddy hated the idea of an overprotective parent. When she grew up to realize that's exactly what she got, she was in no way thrilled. Her mother assured her that things would be fine and she would grow up to love her destiny but the young princess was not convinced.

She was called Theodora her entire life, the name given to match her royal status. She hated it. After she had turned fourteen, Theodora was changed to Teddy. Everyone stopped calling the princess by her given name in favour of her newly adorned nickname.

Teddy's father was not pleased. He began to lecture his only daughter, upset she was erasing the identity the family had so kindly crafted for their daughter. Teddy wouldn't have it and began to reject the idea of her story entirely. Her views changed from wanting a happily ever after to wanting her own kingdom with no prince to ruin it. The long gown that Teddy so often wore was swapped for a short skirt layered with sheer golden fabric from the original dress to spite her father. The princess-to-be continued to make fun of royalty by wearing torn-up garments she had been originally provided, mixing it up to her liking.

Once she was entered in Ever After High, Teddy was ecstatic. She'd get to live in a dorm instead of with her parents, dress how she wanted, do whatever she felt like. Things got awkward when Teddy realized the headmaster was just as strict as her father when it came to destiny.

What's the status?[]

Teddy's been in Ever After for a while now and she's lived through some crazy stuff. Seen classmates battle it out, she's seen the Evil Queen be released, even witnessed the "Book of Legends" be torn apart in order for every student to write their own destiny. Thankfully, this means Teddy can be her own prince or even find her own princess to rule with if she meets someone she fancies. She's not finished with Ever After yet, but when she is, she'll be ready to move on.

Relationships[]

Family[]

My family consists of my mom, my dad, and my godmother.

Dad - Edward Prince[]

My dad is just as strict as the story would suggest, with him being overprotective of me leaving the house and hanging out with boys. It's funny that he has two titles in his name, King and Prince. He always goes by King Edward, though.

Mom - Eleanor Nightgown-Prince[]

My mom, on the other hand, is the one who always encourages me to explore and try new things. She taught me how to cook, to sew, to do all sorts of things. She even let me change up her cloak into a mask once I was old enough. I didn't take my dad's last name since my mom is the one who I'm the successor of. Plus, mom's is nicer to have called out for attendance.

Godmother - Enchantia Witch-hazel[]

My godmother was the witch who helped my mother originally escape in her story. She helped re-enchant my mask to match my needs instead of changing me every time I used it as simply an accessory.

Friends[]

Briar Beauty[]

Briar and I became friends around the time she threw the "Book of Legends" into the Well of Wonder. She and I both couldn't stand out destinies and even though hers is obviously much worse than mine, we came to an understanding and made a friendship over our hate for the old fairytales.

Blondie Lockes[]

Blondie and I being friends was a given. She has a story dealing with bears, I turn into a bear in my story, plus neither of us considers us on the side we're likely assumed to be on. We have a classic Royal versus Rebel friendship but we definitely respect each other's choices.

Luna Lustre[]

Luna and I got close immediately after moving in. Both of our sides of the rooms clashed in a perfect way, plus we both have an affinity for the stars and Moon and planets. She braids my hair, I let her talk about her day... It's hexcellent.

Pets[]

I wouldn't call them pets exactly, but I do have a few bears that I know. Blondie and I joke about an unspoken rivalry with the bears and how one of us is the favourite among them. We both know it's me.

Romance[]

I mean, Luna's my closest friend and my current crush. We're both nervous around each other and I've totally caught her blushing once or twice. Maybe it was just the lighting, but I really hope it's more than that.

Enemies[]

Princes are great, but it's just hard to get along with them when I know they all have destinies that boil down to forcing their wives to simply cook, clean, and be a glorified maid.

Outfits[]

Casual[]

Teddy can usually be found in a black top with a gold ribbon down the centre, fur on the sleeves, and a collar with cutout shoulders. She wears a marron skirt layered with a black skirt on top, all topped with a transparent golden layer that falls to her ankles. She wears maroon gloves with golden trim and a black ribbon, as well as gold jewellery layered on top of those. Pink flowers accent her golden bear mask, earrings, and jewellery. Her black heels have open toes, a golden bow, and maroon-accented heels and sole. Her yellow hair is pulled in pigtails, kept in that style with braids of the dark red at the base of her head, only visible from the back.

Legacy Day[]

On Legacy Day, Teddy dons a cooler-toned maroon outfit covered in golden trim. The gold accents on the red are patterned like the night sky, moons across the skirt, mimicking moonlight with the elongated rays of gold reaching the bottom of the fabric. The dress reaches the floor, hiding her now knee-high black boots. Her bear mask is replaced with a fur-trimmed cape, the hood over her head, nearly falling down to her nose. The top of the dress has sleeves that fall to her wrists, fur trim on the edge of the sleeves, gold patterned across the shoulders and fading out at the wrist. Her ponytails have been swapped for a look that leaves her hair falling across her back, the underside of her hair covered, no longer allowing the view of her dark red braids.

Thronecoming[]

Swapping the Moon-themed outfit for one of the Sun, Teddy adorns a much larger dress and a mask similar to the one the usually wears, but only covering her eyes. The dress is mainly yellow and gold with maroon being the trim. The dress is about knee-length but puffs out like an upside-down muffin cover. The gold layers over yellow which layers over red, the gold being topped with patterns of sunlight and other rays. Her shoes are similar to the casual ones she wears, mainly golden with maroon soles once again. She has golden gloves this time, fur at the elbow. Her earrings are a gold circle with rods dangling from them. Her hair has been transformed into a makeshift half-shave, with it all parted to one side and the red visible from the back again.

Dragon Games[]

The Dragon Games outfit is one of Teddy's favourites, as she was dressed in a powerful top and pants with golden armour covering it all. A simple black top has a slight shimmer to it, and her black pants have stars patterned down the sides. Her black boots have star-shaped buckles and a golden sole. Her iconic gloves are swapped with armour to protect her forearms. Her forehead is topped with a small crown-headdress piece with charms of bears dangling off of it. Her neck and shoulders are protected with golden armour similar to that of a knight. Teddy's pigtails are now styled in one long ponytail, the two segments of red hair underneath united in one segment seen from behind the hairstyle.

Trivia[]

  • Each of her outfits (Legacy Day, Thronecoming, and Dragon Games) is based on the dresses she'll wear to the dances each night in her story.
