Thank you so much for all of your feedback on the OTM voting system! Zena and I have developed a new system that we hope will work much more effectively for everyone here.
Note: Considering the October winners have just been announced, this system will come into place as soon as I make a blog post for it tomorrow.
The OTM voting system (from November onwards) will be changed to be more like the Navigation Tab Nomination event. Simply put, each month a blog post will be posted by an admin and you will comment with your votes. We will tally them up externally and post the results to the wikia.
Why this system?
- Hosting it onsite makes it easier for everyone to vote - it will no longer be hard to find where you should vote.
- It is much more approachable and accessible for new voters.
- The new system allows for multiple voting more effectively, encouraging more people to vote for more OCs.
- It should give people ideas on who to vote for.
- By tallying up the votes externally we can allow the results to be somewhat of a surprise while ensuring people don't just vote for the person already in the lead - remember that votes from all previous months count when deciding the winners.
- By hosting it on a blog post and not a forum we hope to reduce spam.
We hope this system is to your tastes and you all enjoy it a lot more than the last!!
In addition to the above, we've decided that new OTM winners will be posted between the 1st and 5th of every new month.
