Okay, technically the correct title is Father's Day Headcannons, but I'm going to pull out my OCs who don't have the best relationship with their fathers for this. Okay?
Also I know it's a day late but we were coming home from the trip yesterday and we almost got lost so...when we got home all I wanted to do was go to sleep.
Nubia, Sethos, and Abanoub[]
- The Jalads do their father's day celebration the day before, and have for as long as the triplets can remember.
- Nubia usually buys her father something for his collections, even the ones that he's been trying not to add to because even he can't see the point in keeping them. Abanoub now has a new collection of things Nubia's bought for him, (plus ones of things the triplets had made for him)
- But the reason they do it the day before is because Sethos insists that it's only proper his daughter spend the day with her actual father
- And Nubia hates it. They parade around, on display, and she works really hard to keep the princess act up.
- They usually have brunch at the palace and that's the only part of the day they aren't being watched by any more people than usual
Comely and Winsome[]
- Before his accident they had a good tradition.
- They would play a game of soccer or kickball or any non serious sporting event
- Winsome would coach him through every step
- Then Comely broke both his knees and got terrified to play any sports ever again.
- The first year afterwards, he tried so hard to do something that his father would still like
- It didn't go so well.
- Now other than a generic card he doesn't try
Naomi, Arzh, and Jeremiah[]
- Naomi does not know who her father is for the longest time
- And then when she does know, it doesn't change much
- Her childhood she was kind of torn, not knowing what the proper thing to do was. Should she give Arzh a father's day gift because he raised her? Or should she not since he's her uncle? Some years she did some years she didn't, Arzh never told her which one he preferred.
- After meeting Jeremiah, well, she got him something.
- Something small to say thank you, and she doesn't even realize it was father's day when she gave it to him until Arthur say something.
Dolores and Death[]
- It's kind of weird how this one is the first entirely positive one I've done this post but oh well...
- Death insists he's not her father, she insists the same.
- In fact, growing up she didn't even know it was a thing, since Death would have no need to bring it up
- When she came to the school, to live among the living, then she realized what it was.
- After getting an explanation from someone that it didn't have to be for her biological father if she saw someone as a father figure and wanted to show them, Dolores finally made a little herb satchet with the nicest smelling herbs she could find and handed it to him.
- She didn't say happy father's day but the message was still there
- Death learned that it was still very possible for him to cry once she left
Merlena, Peter, Aquaria and Marina[]
- Marina insists that she should celebrate her or even Aquaria on this day since her father is dead.
- Aquaria helped her write a letter with a the things she wished she could tell Peter the first Father's day weekend after he died
- And now she does it every year, she waits until it's close enough to Father's day and she's with Aquaria, and then writes the letter down.
- Aquaria takes it and puts it in the knot of a Neverland tree.
- It's always gone the next time Merlena sees the tree and Aquaria and the other mermaids insist they don't take it
- When Merlena's with Marina over Father's day it's almost worst, because Marina doesn't want her bringing up Peter.
- At least in Neverland she gets to reminisce about him
